I remember my Godparents would light up my eyes,
Each time that they visited as a surprise,
And I remember being the happiest child,
As a Ray 'bear hug' enveloped my smile...
Ray was the kindest and gentlest gent,
Who loved me dearly and I can't express what that meant..
Because, although sometimes life could be tough,
Such special love was always enough,
To help me through and see the light,
And be strong and grow up and do what's right.
Ray would talk so fondly of my roots and of Angie, my nan,
A force to be reckoned with (as only Jean and Ray can!)
And he would tell me of how she would shrug off a love,
Although she really adored them... Now nan, hug him in heaven above...
Ray, I'm so sorry I didn't see you more,
Please know that I love you now as much as before,
Your kind heart and love will be in my memories forever,
And through my daughter Ophelia, I will endevour
To keep your candle burning bright,
As we remember your beautiful 'blue moon' light.
Your Goddaughter,
Natasha.
